Internal product. Complete multi-tenant daycare management: children, attendance, invoicing, staff, menus, daily reports, and a parent PWA portal.
A daycare tracks its children, attendance, invoicing, staff and menus across paper registers, a spreadsheet and a WhatsApp group. Two consequences: staff lose time on tasks that should take seconds, and parents get no reliable window into their child’s day. Here the software touches both children and money, which sets the reliability bar higher than for ordinary admin tooling.
A multi-tenant AdonisJS API on Postgres, 54 models and 74 migrations, with four roles: owner, admin, manager, staff. The scope follows the actual job: child records and custom fields, authorised pickups, medication authorisation and administration, attendance and care packs, daily reports with photos, incident reports, menus, expenses, invoices, payments, wallet and payouts. Two separate interfaces: a dense application for staff on desktop and tablet, and a mobile PWA parent portal with phone plus one-time-code sign-in. Notifications go out by email and WhatsApp, each daycare running its own instance.
Two surfaces, two tempos. Staff work standing, between interruptions, repeating the same gestures dozens of times a day: the interface is dense, fast, and confirms destructive actions. A parent opens the app for thirty seconds at the end of the day for reassurance: the interface reads at a glance and asks for nothing. Same colour and type system, two independent layouts.
The medication module shows the reliability constraint: an administration is only possible if a matching parental authorisation exists, and every dose is recorded with who gave it. That is the kind of rule a spreadsheet cannot hold.
